My name is Sondai Costley and I am a rising sophomore attending Howard University. Upon completion of the second semester of my first year in college, I was enrolled in an English class with the theme of New Media and Race. My major is print journalism and I hope to become a magazine editor in the future. As a supplement and final project for English class, we were required to create a website addressing a specific social problem. Here lies the manifestation of my ideas, research, and conclusions concerning the poverty issue in the United States of America. As an African American, I feel that poverty-stricken lives in our community are occurring too frequently, therefore I took this opportunity to personally address and provide some solutions to this problem.
